Mysore is renowned for its silk that bears a mark of high
quality and everlasting lustre. There are beautiful silk apparels that are
made by the famous silk factory at Mysore. The place is also famous for
sandalwood products made from pure sandalwood at the sandalwood factory.
Climate :
The climate is very moderate and pleasant
throughout the year. Temperature is slightly high during summer and will
be between 30 to 36 degrees. The rainy season is from June to October.
Average rainfall in the City is 86 cms per year. The best season to visit
Mysore will be the month of October/November during Dussehra as the whole
of Mysore wears a festive look and the weather is also very pleasant.
Get to Mysore:
» Air: There are no
direct flights to Mysore, but can reach Bangalore by air & then use
train or bus services.
» Bus: The central bus terminal
handles all the KSRTC long-distance buses. Buses travelling within city,
Srirangapatna & few other local places ply from the City bus stand,
near KR Circle. In addition to the KSRTC buses, there are a number of
private bus companies which run to places such as Bangalore, Goa,
Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Mangalore, Ooty, Pune and other
places.
» Train: Mysore is now board-gauge destination,
which has direct trains to cities like
Delhi,
Mumbai, Chennai,
Mangalore etc.
